The
name of my business, Crystal Cat, has a simple significance. The crystal
signifies the spiritual element and the cat the psychic – it
is my belief that a union of these two elements creates a greater
awareness of life. Nineteen years ago my journey into the world of
crystals and gemstones began with a fascinating Geology course which
helped me realise that the growth of the stones within and on Mother
Earth is not too different from our own growth. Thereby came the acceptance
and understanding of how these crystals and gemstones can aid us in
finding out more about 'why' and even 'who' we are.

I
had been involved with Spiritual Healing for some time and
it was suggested that the power of the stones can enhance that
healing. Initially by taking focus off the self and combining
the energies to assist in 'healing'. An interesting realisation
helped me discover that healing was not necessarily a definative
cure, but often an acceptance of what is. I began a market
stall in Perth, which helped my journey. This happy time continued
for nine years. Being the one behind the stall, I had a lot
of teachers all helping me as I helped them to gain an appreciation
of the wonderfulness and power of crystals and gemstones.

Perhaps
the most common questions to do with crystals and healing is,
Do they really work?
Two stories can perhaps allow you to make up your own mind.
During a day at my stall, two ladies where perusing my collection
and one asked the inevitable question. She decided to purchase
a Rose Quartz (the pink love stone). Two weeks later she returned
and I asked her the question. Quite honestly she replied, 'I can't
say if they work or not, but my husband says that I have been easier
to live with....!'
On another occasion, an elderly gentleman asked the same inevitable
question. He had been having trouble sleeping, so I invited him to
choose a stone that 'attracted' him. Curiously his choice was a Sodalite,
and more interesting was the fact that Sodalites had been known to
assist with this very problem. The stone he was attracted to was the
right one for him. I advised him to place it under his pillow and
let me know if it helped. He has since become a regular visitor to
purchase other Sodalites for his friends who were experiencing the
same sleeplessness....

I
consider myself lucky because, in the beginning, I spent hours
cleaning the dirt and clay from crystals that my parents had
collected from around Australia. Thoughts and feelings kept
coming to me and in the end, I realised they had to be coming
from the stones themselves. This greatly assisted me into being
able to feel and ‘tune’ into the stones at will.
Using them in daily life and meditations allowed the stones
to show
themselves to me and unlock the knowledge that I now believe
I, and we, have within ourselves. The books I have read over
the years were a great starting point and I am grateful to
the many authors for their time in writing their valuable knowledge
and insights. They helped me to find my way with crystals and
gemstones.

believe we owe it to ourselves to learn about the energies
Crystals and Gemstones have and how they can assist healing.
Conducting lectures, courses, workshops and selling an impressive
variey of stones aids my quest in assisting as many people
as I can to do the same, to find their own way, as I have done.
